Don't like who you are? Change it. 3 way to start thriving.

Change is something we are all afraid of. Because, let’s be honest, it is kinda scary to get out of your comfort zone. And change causes that.

Raise your hand if you have complained about things you didn’t like about yourself? Unless you’re god’s gifted child I’m sure you have had moments where you’ve complained about yourself. Okay, now raise your hands if you have done anything to change that?

A lot of us, including me see this perfect versions of ourselves that we strive to be, but it’s so difficult to get there. Or is it? I believe the thoughts we carry make it seem difficult. Let’s say you envision yourself waking up early everyday and having a proper routine. You might be frustrated why you’re not doing it. Day after day you end up waking up late and sleep with guilt of not seeing the change you desperately need.

It just takes one decision to bring change. Imagine the time you spent wishing you had the outcome you wanted and complaining why you didn’t achieve it, instead you actually stopped whining and started working towards it and achieving your goals.

It’s easy to give excuses on why a certain result wasn’t achieved, it’s difficult to own up to our own faults of not being accountable. I remember getting frustrated on why I’m not able to achieve my goals and not able to see any change or development. You know what I said to myself?

“Then change it” And I just realized I literally have the power to turn the tables around and actually get what I want to. You need to ask yourself are you really giving your 100%? If not then it’s completely your fault on why you aren’t where you are.

Instead, start actually owning up and bring the change in your life. You will see the difference.

How does one change?

It starts with you:

By change I don’t mean become an entirely new person, you shouldn’t lose your authenticity. By change I mean to improve who you are as a person. If you don’t like the fact you eat junk food so often, start changing that.

Start noting down the changes you want to bring in yourself, like going to the gym everyday. How consistent are you? What challenges you’re facing? Make a progress journal.

Take that decision and stop bullshitting yourself by giving excuses and allowing yourself to repeat the actions you despise.

It starts with you.

Make a vision board:

Vision Board of your dreams for change

What’s a vision board? A vision board helps you envision your dreams and desires till it’s subconsciously imprinted to bring out actual results.

Let’s say you want to become a doctor, work in New York or own a cat. You write it down or stick pictures of your goals into the vision board and I’m sure you know what happens after manifesting your dreams 😉

Vision boards are known to be a powerful way to manifest your dreams into actual results.

Write down what you don’t like about yourself:

I was so frustrated about myself and my habits that I wrote down what I didn’t like about myself. Example: I don’t like how I always procrastinate, I don’t like how I am not planning my days, I don’t like how I complain so much.

And this method is not just venting what you don’t like about yourself but actually finding solutions, so for procrastination I wrote- to write my tasks down with the given time frame, for planning- I gave myself a solution to use a diary and calendar. That way you are finding out the problem, but also a solution to change.

Change is difficult but what’s more difficult is to live with regret of not changing. You have only one life, living it with regret and complaints won’t make it better.

Instead start putting in the work and change the parts you don’t like about yourself till you become the best version of yourself.
