This year was rough! The pandemic had a disastrous effect on the lives of many, from millions of people being the victims of the virus , to the economy crashing and people losing their jobs and livelihood in different spheres of the earth . The year 2020 , regardless of being infamous, has taught us a lot of things :
Life is unpredictable , get the most of it while you can.
Who knew a life altering pandemic would strike millions of people and shut the world down? Finding shield by staying inside our homes , wearing masks at all times and keeping ourselves sanitized is the new normal now! If someone told me all this a year back , I would’ve laughed my butt off and wondered what is this person smoking!
No but seriously I don’t think we would have ever understood how important our lives are if 2020 wouldn’t have occurred and how within a matter of time our entire lives could take a 360 degree turn !
So, go travel ! Call that person you always wanted to talk to , ask your crush out, cook your favorite dish , do something you were always scared of ! Life is too short and unpredictable to end it with regrets .
Your mental health>>> over everything.
The pandemic had a very negative toll on our mental health. Let’s be honest , being at home all day , listening to these fear mongering news , spending hours on social media , losing people you knew due to covid-19 has disrupted our mental health in different ways.
According to WHO ,over 60% reported disruptions to mental health services for vulnerable people, including children and adolescents (72%), older adults (70%), and women requiring antenatal or postnatal services (61%) .
So it’s important you take time for yourself , give yourself a day off for self care/love , cut toxic people out, reduce your hours on social media , eat good and nourishing food ,eliminate anything that harms your mental health.
Keep YOURSELF as a priority , all you got is you!
Finding alternate sources of income .
With millions of people losing their jobs , Covid really was a wake up call for many to not solely depend on their jobs as the only source of income.
Because once that primary source of income is cut off, you are left with nothing , so it’s always save to have a plan B or C if you will!
Find passive income sources , like investing in the stock market , real estate , mutual funds etc.
Spending time with the people you love.
Due to the lockdown , social interactions were at the bare minimum . Most of us were at home with our families , time made some families closer to each other , while for others it didn’t . And it’s completely fine. Sometimes families can be toxic. What can be done is : communicate and sort it out , if you can’t change that than let it be.
Find someone you can confide to and talk to . We are social beings and interactions are important . Make new friends , life is too short to live it all by yourself . Try and get to know people , learn about them . Cut negative people out, bring ambitious and driven people in your life, who get the best out of you .
GRATITUDE !
Hey! You’re here! Reading this! You’re alive and healthy , after all that went down this year. With millions of people losing their dear lives you’ve survived . You should be grateful and proud . You are safe and sound. You’re breathing , you’ll be fine. You’ll get through this.
